The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) is hosting a virtual event to discuss Vermont Saves, the new state-mandated retirement program impacting small businesses in Vermont. This initiative introduces new administrative responsibilities for employers. Becky Wasserman from the Office of the State Treasurer will be present to explain the program, employer duties, and key deadlines.

Vermont Saves is designed to offer a retirement savings plan for employees without access to one through their employer. It involves automatic enrollment in a Roth IRA account, with contributions deducted directly from paychecks. Employees have the option to choose their contribution rate or stick with the default setting and can opt out if they prefer.

Participation in this virtual event is free but requires advanced registration. Attendees will receive a link to join on the day of the event.

For assistance with registration or to submit questions in advance, individuals can contact Grassroots Manager Julianna Rauf at julianna.rauf@nfib.org.
