BURLINGTON, Vt., June 26 – Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) on Wednesday will welcome U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Michael S. Regan to Vermont to announce new funding from EPA’s Solar for All program, which was championed by Sanders and created when the Inflation Reduction Act was signed into law in August of 2022.
Sanders and Administrator Regan will be joined at the announcement by Sen. Peter Welch (D-Vt.), Representative Becca Balint (D-Vt.), SunCommon’s founder and president, and other community leaders.
The Solar for All program – which will be announced at a press conference this Wednesday at a home with rooftop solar in Waterbury – will help to lower energy costs for families and address the existential threat of climate change by bringing residential rooftop solar installations to communities in Vermont and across the country.
This visit comes as part of a cross-nation tour by the Biden-Harris Administration during which Administrator Regan is announcing new resources to combat climate change, advance environmental justice, and build a clean energy economy – all made possible by the Inflation Reduction Act.
