Did anyone say snow day? A strong nor’easter is affecting the Northeast, bringing several inches of snow to the Green Mountains throughout the day.

Vermont isn’t likely to see the same strong winds and potential blizzard conditions that coastal New England is expected to see. But hikers should still know how to be prepared for unexpected winter weather. Consider waiting until after snowfall to venture into the mountains, traveling routes you are familiar with, and always carrying the Ten Essentials in case something goes awry.
