Deer hunting season in Vermont is underway, and youth and novice weekend starts October 22. Stay visible to hunters and show your support for GMC by wearing one of our blaze orange trucker hats, now back in stock in-store and online. Other tips to stay safe during hunting season are:
Avoid wearing brown or white, the colors of a deer.
Be especially careful while hiking in valleys and near roads and trailheads.
Avoid hiking during dawn and dusk due to low visibility.
Consider leaving dogs at home. If you do bring a furry friend, dress your dog in bright bandanas or a blaze orange vest, and keep them on leash.
Wave to make your presence known to hunters.
