Vermont DMV Closed on July 4 in Honor of Independence Day

The Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) will be closed on July 4th in observance of Independence Day. This closure allows the DMV staff to commemorate the historic event that led to the birth of the United States and offers residents an opportunity to celebrate the holiday with their loved ones.

Independence Day, also known as the Fourth of July, is a cherished American holiday commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. This momentous occasion marked the United States’ formal break from British colonial rule, setting the stage for forming a new nation founded on liberty, freedom, and self-governance principles. Each year, Americans across the country come together to honor this historic event.

While the DMV offices will be closed on July 4th, many routine transactions, such as license renewals, registration renewals, and address changes, can be conveniently completed online. This allows individuals to take care of their necessary DMV-related tasks outside of business hours and during the holiday closure.
