The Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food and Markets is preparing for Vermont Day at the Big E, scheduled for Saturday, September 20. The event will be held at the Vermont Building on the Avenue of States in West Springfield, Massachusetts.

According to the agency, 25 vendors from Vermont will participate inside the building, with an additional 14 set up on its front lawn. The annual event is designed to showcase products and food from across Vermont.

“The front lawn of the Vermont Building at the Big E will feel just like one of the local farmers markets you’d find in the Green Mountain State,” said Vermont Agriculture Secretary Anson Tebbetts. “We’re excited to showcase the incredible variety of food, products, crafts, and activities that come straight from the heart of our Vermont communities. After enjoying the outdoor experience, visitors will want to step inside for even more activities, food and fun — what we like to call a Taste of Vermont.”

Among those featured on the front lawn are artists such as Natasha Bogar and Watercolors by Joshy; craft vendors including Mimi’s gifts; Northwoods Nursery with plants; Quill Hill selling spices and herbs; Jamaican Jewelz with sauces; Ben & Jerry’s ice cream; Skinny Pancake serving crepes; Small Oven Pastries offering macarons; as well as a live mural painting by Natasha Bogar. Blossom Winks will provide face painting for children.

Inside the building, visitors can sample products such as Eden Specialty Ciders or maple items including maple cream and cotton candy. Handcrafted goods from Humble Bee Botanicals and Bergamot + Amor will also be available alongside dishes from So-full Sisters and Jamaican Jewelz. Other vendors include Mother Myrick’s Confectionary and Vermont Marshmallow Company.

Vermont Day typically attracts large crowds. In 2024, attendance exceeded 178,000 people during this day alone at The Big E—a fair that sees about 1.6 million visitors over its 17-day run each year—and sales through businesses in the Vermont Building surpassed $2 million last year.

More information about participating vendors can be found on The Vermont Building at the Big E website.
