Friday September 30 (Theme: Encounters with Unusual Wildlife)
Friday October 28
5:30-8 pm | Free | Families welcome
Event will take place outside in good weather, or inside in case of inclement weather.
Indoor space is well-ventilated and has a high-quality air purifier.

Join us for a casual evening of stories and a shared community meal. We encourage everyone to contribute a short story of their travels (though there is no pressure to speak), and “travel” may entail a trip to the store or a trip across the world! The experience is a bit like jamming on musical instruments: what you hear inspires what you share. The evening will start with a potluck at 5:30, and storytelling will begin around 6. Please bring your own dishes and silverware. If the weather is nice, the entire evening will be outside, so please dress accordingly. If raining, we’ll be indoors.

Travelers Circle Storytelling is run by Mark Laxer, a Montpelier resident who has been running free storytelling gatherings around the country since 1996.

Ground Rules: To maintain a respectful storytelling and story-listening circle for all, we kindly ask that side conversations, rambunctious children, and other distractions leave the circle until ready to return.

Expectations: Our Shared Commitment

Take care of yourself. Take care of others. Take care of the earth.

We strive to help people feel welcomed, oriented to the landscape, engaged, inspired, safe, and part of our community.

We ask that our visitors and participants share this commitment while at NBNC.

We expect that all who enter this shared space do so in the spirit of welcoming kindness, inclusivity, respect, and curiosity.
