Green Mountain Club issued the following announcement.
Oops! We goofed. Some of you may remember that we suggested the Mansfield Toll Road as an alternative hike for mud season. Disregard that advice because this route is off-limits until the summer hiking season, due to road repairs after the ski season.
Instead, try the Notch Road. Until it reopens, that is a safe and appropriate hiking route for mud season. If you're itching to hike this weekend, please pick a dry, sturdy trail. Stay safe, and thanks for keeping our trails in shape!
