Poultney Chamber of Commerce: Maplefest Weekend

Poultney Chamber of Commerce recently issued the following announcement.

Maplefest literally takes place all over Poultney! Lots to do, bring the whole family!

Maplefest Pancake Breakfast

From 8:00am to 11:00am at the Poultney United Methodist Church on Main Street.

Eat in or take out. Breakfast is free but donations are appreciated.

Official Tree Tapping

Starting at 10:00am on the front lawn of the former Green Mountain College campus. Mystery Guest and past Citizens of the Year face off to tap the Official Maple Tree. This event is free.

Maplefest Ride and Race

Analog Cycles on Hillside Road in East Poultney. Ride starts at 10:00am, race at 11:00am. Sign-ups online at bikereg.com.

Horse Drawn Wagon Rides

Starting at 10:00am in front of the former Citizens Bank on Main Street. Provided free by the Poultney Area Chamber of Commerce and the Poultney Downtown Revitalization Committee.

Maple Activity for Kids

Poultney Public Library will be giving out special take-and-make craft kits for children from 10:00am to 1:00pm. Children who stop by can also sign up for the Maplefest Prize Drawing. Winner will be notified Monday, March 28th.

Historic Society Activities

Free maple cookies, maple video, exhibits, and a raffle at the historic East Poultney Schoolhouse from 1:00pm to 3:00pm.

Maplefest Ham Dinner

4:30pm to 7:00pm, dine on maple-glazed ham, maple mashed sweet potatoes, vegetable, dessert, and beverages at the Young at Hearts Senior Center on Furnace Street. Adults $8.00, kids 12 and under $5.00.

All Day Events

Maplefest Bag Sales

Get 25% off on all non-sale items that can fit in the special recyclable bag at Williams True Value Hardware (starting at 8:00am) and 20% at The Original Vermont Store (opening shortly after). Other discounts available at other stores, shopping available all day long.

Maple Food Specials

Maple Fried Dough at Pelletier Food Truck by the new Slate Quarry Park. Maple Specials at Taps Tavern and Perry’s Main Street Eatery. Easy Poultney General Store, Poultney Pizza, Full Belly Deli, Stewarts, and Tennybrook Market will also be open.
