“ORDER OF BUSINESS” published by Congressional Record in the Senate section on Jan. 20

Politics 17 edited

Volume 167, No. 11, covering the 1st Session of the 117th Congress (2021 - 2022), was published by the Congressional Record.

The Congressional Record is a unique source of public documentation. It started in 1873, documenting nearly all the major and minor policies being discussed and debated.

“ORDER OF BUSINESS” mentioning Patrick J. Leahy was published in the Senate section on page S64 on Jan. 20.

Of the 100 senators in 117th Congress, 24 percent were women, and 76 percent were men, according to the Biographical Directory of the United States Congress.

Senators' salaries are historically higher than the median US income.

The publication is reproduced in full below:

ORDER OF BUSINESS

Mr. SCHUMER. Madam President, just to let the Members know the order of business, we will first install Senator Leahy as President pro tempore. We will then have some other mechanical business. I will then give my maiden speech as majority leader of the U.S. Senate, and then we will--

(Applause, Senators rising.)

--and then we will hear from Senator McConnell.

There may be a vote this evening.
