Dairy industry professionals from the Northeast will meet in Albany, New York, for the Northeast Dairy Innovation Summit on March 10-11. The event is organized by the Northeast Dairy Business Innovation Center (NE-DBIC) and will feature workshops focused on farm and processing modernization, workforce development, and policy.

The summit’s theme, “Dynamic Dairy: Opportunities at Every Scale,” aims to address strategies for adopting new technology, modernizing operations, accessing technical assistance, expanding the workforce, and managing change within dairy businesses.

Regional collaboration will be a focus of the two-day conference. State leaders scheduled to speak include Richard Ball, Commissioner of the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, and Anson Tebbetts, Vermont Secretary of Agriculture, Food and Markets. Their remarks are set for Tuesday, March 10.

Keynote addresses will be delivered by Krysta Harden, CEO of US Dairy Export Council on March 10, and Adeline Druart, CEO of Lawson’s Finest Liquids on March 11. Both speakers are expected to discuss topics related to workforce development and innovation in the dairy sector.

The NE-DBIC provides funding opportunities for dairy farmers and processors across 11 states in the Northeast: Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Vermont. The center’s efforts are intended to support innovation and resilience in regional dairy production. NE-DBIC operates under the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food and Markets with funding from USDA-AMS.
